Runner At Starting Blocks

Sprinting

Top Speed is a track club focused on the sprints and relays for athlete's high school aged and up. There's no training available for distance, throws or pole vault. Athletes are welcome to do hurdles & long jump if they are willing to do all extra technical work required. Middle schoolers are welcome if they have a high school age sibling actively on the team. While Top Speed has fast kids we accept any level of athlete and work to give everyone the same level of attention.

Autumn Leaves Ground

Seasons

There are three seasons each year, which are the offseason, preseason & summer. Offseason is September to November (12 weeks), preseason is December to February (12 weeks), and the summer program is June through early August (8-10 weeks). Each season is $300 per athlete ($900 for the year). During the spring athletes should be competing with school teams. We'll have a free once a week technique session and assist at invites & championships at this time.

Practice

Practices are held 3 to 5 days per week. Our main training days (speed and conditioning) are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Tuesdays and Thursdays are used for anything we need, whether that is extra strength work, technique or recovery. Our training schedule will shift the week of a meet as needed. All trainings located in Redmond WA.  Practices are 1 - 2 hours long based on the plans. One hour on days we do the track or gym. Two hours on days we do both.

Training

As stated above, Top Speed TC is a sprints and relays club. This means all training is centered around developing speed. We do a combination of endurance, speed, technique and weights that truly develops athletes in a healthy manner. Weight training is not mandatory but highly recommended. All you need is a membership to Eastside Gym ($70 per season) to participate in lifting sessions. Middle school athletes are not allowed to do the lifting parts of our trainings.

Track Starting Line

Meets

Top Speed trains athletes to compete at various stages of the year. Preseason, we compete indoors around the Pacific Northwest and Nike, New Balance or USATF Indoor Nationals, if you qualify. Summer, we compete in all-comers, club invites, USATF JO's, Nike Outdoor Nationals or U20, if you qualify. During the spring athletes should be competing with school teams. As said above we will help at invitationals and championships if school coach is 100% on board with it.

Limit

Top Speed has a limit of 20 athletes. That limit is based on how many athletes we reasonably can get through technique and weightlifting sessions (It is not to be exclusive). Those actively on the team have first priority to join each season. When spots open via seniors graduating or an athlete not returning, we will accept new athletes. Middle schoolers will not count towards total because they're not allowed to participate in weightlifting sessions, due to development.
